"The Empty Jar"

"The Empty Jar" by M. Leighton is one of the most enlighten books I have ever read. The most heart retching, soul provoking romance so far. I had to put this book down more times than I can count just so I could compose myself and get a grip on my emotions. I too have been touched by cancer in my family. My dad died when I was 19 from Crohn's disease. I also believed that death would not come for him because he had been sick my whole life. It was all I've ever known. It was my normal. My mom so bravely took care of him and us keeping most of the pain from us. My dad was a strong, brave man who put up a great fight all the way till the end just like Lena.
Nate and Lena's love story touched me so much. It stayed with me even after I put the book down. So many emotions from sadness, pain, joy, love, and faith. That there is really love like this out in the world and it is so precious so raw it has to be a gift from God himself. I was very touched to have read a piece of Ms. Leighton's story. Thanks for sharing your inner thoughts about your family with us. This book is breath taking.
